Day 5
The next morning we felt a little sore but really wanted to make it to high springs where we had a house with a bed and a hot shower. The original plan was to do a 80mi day and then the next day have a short 40mi/rest day at high springs but once we started riding that hot shower and bed started to sound really good. We decided to put our heads down and try to grind out 120mi in one day. We were dead tire and at about mile 90 we got into a big race with a pit bull that almost took our legs off. after eight hours in the saddle we and 120mi we rolled into my friend Mike Simpson's house at about nine at night. we were beat. I think tomorrow we will take a rest day.
Hey this is Jeremy from Pcola. Duce knows me! Anyways, it's good to follow your tour, while I'm on my first tour in Missouri. I'm jealous that your in FL b/c it's mostly flat and pavement riding. I'm not jealous because the days in the Ozarks here in MO are much cooler (mid 60s). I just finished day 7. 30 mi. of rolling hills. Check me out on http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/6924 , a much less fancy journal. But I will edit it with pics when I get a chance. Off to camp by the lake. Safe travelz doodz!
